María is an award-winning dual language educator, instructional coach, and international speaker. Leveraging her extensive expertise in multilingual and multicultural education, she established her own consulting practice in 2018, through which she has delivered seminars, workshops, and professional development on conscious leadership and safe environments for thousands of educators and stakeholders globally. With over a decade of experience as an educator in diverse educational settings and countries (Spain, Poland, England and the United States), María possesses firsthand knowledge of the challenges faced in vulnerable learning environments.

 

María’s commitment to humanitarian efforts spans her entire career, highlighting her role as Board Member and Director of Events and Activities at the United Nations Women Chicago Chapter, where she focused on the intersection of quality education and gender equality, leading community-driven efforts to support women and girls internationally through local advocacy, education and fundraising. She currently serves as Global Goals Ambassador for Quality Education at the United Nations Association USA, where she has been leading efforts to support educators globally, hosting impactful initiatives as her Educator Wellness Retreats with educators in attendance from different parts of the world.

 

María is originally from Spain, and has traveled the world studying and being involved in research about impact-driven social emotional learning and language development in some of the oldest Academic Institutions such as University of Seville in Spain, University of Oxford in England and the Jagiellonian University in Poland. She holds a BA and a MS in English Linguistics and Literature, a MEd in TESOL, and a MA in Linguistics and Cultural Studies from the University of Seville, Spain. Currently, she is an International PhD Candidate in Psychology of Education at the University of Seville, while also completing Graduate Studies in Psychology at Harvard University.​
